Merkel and the great female Titans of the XX century: true role models!
Angela Merkel is amazing leader, a woman who has been leading Germany through some good years, some tough international crisis, and it is a shame that people have been talking about her shaking fits and inquiring about her ability to govern, instead of showing solidarity and concern about her health. Nothing she has done, or has been doing, demonstrates, or even hints at any kind of incompetence on her part, as a statesperson. She is not the Queen of England, a creature of protocol, she is a thinking human being! She is an inspiring role model, at least to me, as other women of her stature were, on my formative years. I looked up to Golda Meir, Indira Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher (no, not Madre Teresa, please!). I admired women who made a difference in the world because of their intelligence, character, strength, and will.
